Case studies

Case Study 1:

Isaac Angoli came from a disadvantaged background, Otuke District.  He pursued A Diploma in Civil Engineering at Makerere University, Kampala.  He states, “I am grateful for the bursary/top up fee from LCT that enabled me to complete my diploma course at Makerere University.  I hope to be empathetic to others facing similar challengers in future, too.”

Case Study 2:

Jackies Ojuka from Aduku is one of the deprived girls from the poorest economic background, although very capable had almost dropped out.  LCT topped up the fees till “O” level and she has secured a government bursary to continue with specialist training in criminology field.  She sent her gratitude to all the donors who made it possible for her to advance beyond this level.

Case Study 3:

Sandra Akot from Aboko is a disadvantaged from family with many orphaned children and the most vulnerable teenage female who has benefitted from the scholarship.  LCT awarded her education grant and she has graduated with in Nursing at UCI.  Sandra states, “I feel so privileged to benefit from LCT grant.  She said, “I feel so inspired to graduate and I am so passionate to see others succeed as I did in nursing field”.

Case Study 4:

Winnie Aceng from Lira is also one of the most disadvantaged teenagers who almost dropped out without obtaining a certificate until the case was brought to the attention of the committee for LCT education fund in 2022.  She felt she was being pressured to marry against her will, but now feels safe to pursue her Nursing training at UCI.  Winnie says, “I was happy when I was selected for LCT education grant. She completed her training in summer 2025.  She states, “Thank you for bursary and I intend to help vulnerable girls like me so that they too can achieve their potential in future.”

Case Study 5:

Akullo Annet from Apac is from a single parent background on a bursary (top-up) fee for Nursing degree at UCI.  She continues with her determination to complete her training.

Okot Harold (see video link, too)

He attended the youth business mentoring and agro-farming training, thus own.  He is now doing Diploma in Medical Laboratory Training in Lira Regional Hospital.  He is so passion is determined to finish and to will be able to mentor other youth age group so that they can lead sustainable lifestyle.  He is so grateful to the donation from LCT.

Case Study 7: Teddy Ayume

She comes from Otuke deprived family and has completed training with YAWODI and owns a farm.  She aims to start her Nursing training and is able to finance her education and be able to lead a better life style.  She is mentoring the youthful age group so they can gain experience of using the same model to earn a better living. She is very.

Case Study 8:

Andrew and Robinah Acobi (Youth mentoring scheme and team leadership Award winners)

Robinah and Andrew Acobi from Inomo from a disadvantaged background have been left to take care of several orphaned girls and boys in the immediate family. Both are responsible for supporting fellow orphans in the family who are so vulnerable.  They have done very well in mobilizing other youthful age group 18–24-year-olds) to participate in the project model.  They earn the gold certificates in Leadership and Entrepreneurial training.  Both have warned the youth mentoring and team building scheme.
